Prairie Outpost Park

Prairie Outpost Park is located on twelve-acres of city property near Interstate 94. Groundbreaking was held May 30, 1975. It was officially designated a Bicentennial Project of Dickinson and Stark County. The park is owned and maintained by the City of Dickinson, with financial support from various sources, including donations, grants, and fundraisers, as well as support from both the Dickinson city government and the Stark County government.

Located on the park grounds are 5 historic buildings and a coal car that have been moved from their original location in southwest North Dakota to Prairie Outpost Park. The remaining buildings at the site are reproductions or new buildings that were built on the park grounds.
